Our U-pick season opens June thru November by appointment on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays for raspberries, olallieberries, thorn less blackberries, tomatoes, chestnuts, pumpkins and kiwi. We also grow rhubarb, blueberries, loquats, guava, figs, mandarins, pomegranates, persimmons, herbs, squash, corn and many other seasonal items available for purchase on the farm and farmers markets year-round. | Description: Blue Acres is a family-owned and operated organic blueberry farm located in the foothills in Newcastle, CA. Our goal is to provide the most healthy and organically-grown berries. Blueberry plants require six years for full maturity, although they can produce small crops in their second or third year. Starting in 2006 with only 100 bushes, we have gradually increased to 750 bushes, of which 600 are now producing. The harvest season is short, only about 6-8 weeks, so crop sales during that time are made both at local farmers’ markets and on-site on weekends.
