From the Suinsun vine to now Granite Bay wine, 👋 Meet Jonathan Weir aka Jon! We'd like to introduce him as our Wholesale Representative.
🍷 Getting to know Jon...🍷
Jon grew up in Sacramento county and grew up in a winemaking family. His uncle owned Galvan Family Cellars in the Suisun Valley area so he definitely grew up in and around the wine industry. Prior to college, he worked for multiple beer distributors in Salt Lake City and Sacramento. He then decided to work for the family winery and assisted his uncle with overseeing all operations including winemaking direct to consumer sales, and wine club management. After the winery closed its doors in 2020, he worked as a Brand Ambassador for Materra Cunat Family Vineyards in Napa. He then worked in Lodi as an Assistant Winemaker before getting into tasting room management. He had stints with Jeff Runquist wines in Amador, and Cielo Estate Winery in the Sierra Foothills. While working for Cielo as their General Manager, he proactively created a small wholesale market for the winery in order to increase brand awareness and drive business back to the winery. He quickly realized that his passion in the wine industry was in wholesale.
Being able to build and maintain relationships with his clients, create new clients and relationships was the direction he wanted to go in with his career.
Outside of the vine, he enjoy spending time with his wife, who is a registered nurse at UC Davis and two kids! He enjoys fishing, wine tasting, and attending 🏀 Sacramento Kings games 💜
